音響光学変向器 (AOディフレクタ)

音響光学変向器 (AOディフレクタ)はRFの周波数を変えることにより任意な方角に入射レーザービームの角度を変えることができます。また機械的な駆動部を持つガルバノスキャナに比べて非常に速いスキャンレート(>250kHz:波長やビーム径による)でのリニアスキャンまたはXYディフレクタによる2Dスキャンを行うことができます。一般的なAOモジュレータにてもRFの周波数を変えることにより角度変調はできますが、ブラッグアングルの不一致によりスキャン範囲に応じて回折効率の低下が見られます。Isomet社のAOディフレクタには複屈折結晶の非線形特性を利用してブラッグ角-周波数感度を最小化するOff-axis型の”OAD”タイプと2つまたは4つのRF入力端子を備えトランスデューサのフェーズドアレイ電極によりRF駆動周波数に応じて結晶内部の音響柱を電気的に操縦するビーム操縦型の”BS”タイプがあります。
